Inspiring Worship:
“We are committed to providing culturally relevant environments where people experience God and His work among us.”
What does “culturally relevant” mean? In my experience, in most churches it means… “This is our church’s culture, so follow these rules to the letter and we’ll get along just fine.”
I’m sorry, that doesn’t work for me, and maybe not for you, either.
My family and I came to Community Life Church about four years ago. Right away, we could tell that CLC is a bit different. It takes the same Bible-based and Christ-centered philosophies we’ve all known, and weekly puts them into a context for today…for our world…not the world of 50 or 100 years ago. At CLC, I hear about how God applies to my life today, as well as learning the meanings behind the scriptures.
The goal at the top of this page, creating Inspiring Worship that is “…culturally relevant”, is maybe strongest for me as a part of the Worship team. The team works hard to make sure every song, every moment, fits just right into each message. Being a part of that effort uplifts me, and takes me deeper into the worship experience.
I’ve never walked out of a Sunday morning service wondering why we spent time talking about a particular subject. Messages have always had a direct connection right to me and helps brace me against whatever comes my way during the week. For me, it’s a pleasure to serve at a place that speaks to me about the things I need, and in a way that I need to hear them.
